Which exercise environment do you prefer? I offer 1:1 or 2:1 training sessions in the gym, or in your home.

Whichever setting you choose, we will take your fitness goals, and work to make them reality. You will see your bespoke programme change and increase in intensity as your strength and mobility develop.

60+ Strength and Mobility

Join one of my weekly circuit training classes especially designed for seniors; those of us aged 60 and over.

Research has shown that regularly attending a circuits class can help to boost metabolism in the 60+ population, control weight, and improve muscular strength and endurance. With regular circuit training, you may find that you can walk further, walk faster, and experience improved balance.

Circuit training is a style of workout where participants go through a series of 6-10 exercises with short breaks in between. The exercises target different muscle groups for a full body workout. In my classes, expect a combination of moderate intensity exercise using a  choice of weight, along with functional bodyweight exercises specially customised to the needs and preferences of the 60+ individual.

60+ Strength and Mobility Classes

Tuesdays: Great Shelford Memorial Hall, 9.30 -10.30am

Thursdays: Hauxton Centre, 9.30 -10.30am

Cost: £10 per class

Walking is the most fundamental, basic, and most natural way for our bodies to get from one place to another. It is exercise, and like all exercise, it does us good. Come and walk with me. Together we will learn good posture and good technique; whatever the weather!

Together we will create a walk that works for you; we can go as fast or as slow as you like. We can mix it up and do a bit of both. We can decide for how long and how often. We will warm up, we will walk, we will cool down; and so the walk becomes your workout.

More about the SixtyFit Coach

Hi, my name is Helen, aka the SixtyFit Coach. And yes, you have probably already guessed, I am sixty years old! 

I always thought of myself as fit and active. I exercised over the years, usually concentrating on one sport at a time; horse riding and tennis in my forties were followed by periods on and off belonging to a gym. I somehow lost my way, though. It all came to a head four years ago when I realised I could not even sit down comfortably cross legged. It was so painful, both physically and mentally. I was only fifty six years old! It was this experience that became the start of change for me, and when I took my very first steps towards becoming The SixtyFit Coach. Now I am training to do handstands! 

What does it mean to be fit, anyway? For me, feeling fit is all about living the optimum life possible for longevity. I want to be able to go about my daily activities with optimal performance, endurance and strength. I want to stay well, sleep well, and eat well. I want to stay mobile, and to be able to pick up and carry my grandchildren, to run and play with them, to take them out. Believe me, pushing children in a pram is a great resistance exercise! 

I look after myself; I have my own personal trainer. Our one-to-one sessions in the gym help me to focus on my own fitness levels and achieve my personal goals, as well as to develop my own expertise. I need to retain a high level of fitness to be the best personal trainer I can be for you. 

As your personal trainer, my passion is for everyone, no matter what their age, to take the opportunity to build strength and to move with ease, whatever that might mean for them and their body. I offer bespoke sessions. Whatever you decide, I can help you to feel stronger and ready for more.
